Your assistant. Our artist data.
Let an MCP-compatible assistant search Pop and K-pop artists, group members, birthdays, releases and monthly calendars.
Connect FanGraph
- Create and verify a FanGraph account, or sign in.
- In an AI client that supports remote MCP and OAuth, add
https://fangraphapi.com/mcpas a Streamable HTTP server. Client availability and account permissions vary. - Sign in on FanGraph and approve the catalog-only consent screen. Never paste your password or API key into a conversation.
- Ask: “Find Taylor Swift in the Pop catalog and cite the profile’s sources.”
For ChatGPT, custom connector installation depends on your plan and workspace settings. This connector is not currently listed in the directory. In Codex or another MCP client, use its remote server settings and OAuth sign-in flow.
Seven read-only tools
- search_artists and get_artist
- search_groups and get_group_members
- find_birthdays — month and day only
- get_releases and get_calendar
You control access
The connector cannot change records, manage accounts, or read passwords, email addresses or private account details. Each connection occupies one of your three active key slots. Tool calls share your account’s 10,000 requests per UTC day and existing rate limits.
Access tokens last one hour; rotating refresh tokens allow a connection to stay signed in for up to 30 days. Revoke an “AI connection” in your developer dashboard to stop access immediately.
Coverage and sources
This is a factual catalog, not a complete live news feed. MusicBrainz and Wikidata source references are included where available. Reviewed upcoming releases may be sparse. Ask your assistant to cite sources and check the date before relying on an announcement.
